It looks like a contradictory statement doesn’t it? There have been a lot of discussions and debates on whether a great web design can be SEO friendly or not. This is a very critical area and things can go wrong even if a small area of the design is tweaked a little bit. Designers lean toward creating a beautiful design but what SEO loves is optimized content and code that can be easily crawled over. In this case, both are equally important and good results can be achieved when they blend along with each other. One thing that definitely has to be understood is that a design that is said to be SEO friendly does not mean Search Engine Optimization. SEO friendly in design is all about getting Google and other major search engines to recognize and read the pages of you site whereas SEO is an ongoing process of thorough keyword analysis, updating of fresh content and link building. It takes a lot of time and effort. The SEO project for a particular website cannot be considered to be complete on the day of launch. Here’s a list of a few important and interesting points which will help you understand how and why a great web design can be SEO friendly. • Keeping the navigational flow structure simple helps to a great extent. A user will not like to return if he finds the website confusing.
• Alignment of content, both graphics and text are important areas which can help your website attract a lot of visitors. Content well designed and well placed should be given a red alert.
• The design can also incorporate feedback forms and interactive forms that help build an online network.
• Avoid a lot of flash content and animations since the search will not be able to read the content in your website. These are just a very few important points that can really help you understand you can create a web design that is SEO friendly. There can be a lot more but to start with, follow the simple points when designing your website and I’m sure you’ll see positive results in the near future.
